The Role:
We are currently seeking a Yard Operative to join one of our client’s largest branches as a Yard Operative. In this role, you will play a vital part in creating a friendly and welcoming environment that encourages repeat business, driving branch sales and margin growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Cultivate and maintain exceptional standards of customer service, ensuring compliance with our client’s best practices, standards, and company policies.
Assist in managing company stock, including replenishment, rotation, and merchandising.
Maintain a high standard of tidiness and cleanliness in the yard.
Build rapport with customers, exhibiting politeness and courtesy in all interactions.
Remain vigilant to prevent product loss or theft, promptly reporting any issues to the Line Manager.
Prioritize and report any Health & Safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.
Qualifications and Skills:
A positive and approachable attitude, contributing to a collaborative work environment.
Previous experience working in a Builders Merchants and familiarity with yard operations is essential.
Good product knowledge within the industry, enabling effective customer support and guidance.
Professionalism and adherence to the company’s values and principles.
Strong interpersonal skills, confidence, and the ability to engage with customers.
Basic literacy and numeracy skills to fulfill job requirements.
