Maintenance Engineer (CNC / Fanuc) — Relocation to Plymouth Required

Salary: £44,660.00 (Including 20% shift allowance)
Hours: Double days — 06:00–14:00 / 14:00–22:00, alternating weekly (no nights, weekends off)
Type: Permanent, full-time — relocation to Plymouth required

The role

Reporting to the Maintenance Engineering Manager, you’ll keep our production plant, equipment and services running through a mix of planned (PPM/TPM) and reactive maintenance. Day to day you will:

• Diagnose and repair breakdowns on CNC machine tools and plant, working to production priorities
• Carry out fault-finding using Fanuc CNC controls and PLC ladder diagrams
• Deliver planned preventative maintenance to schedule and arrange machine release with production
• Support the installation, moves and commissioning of new machinery
• Complete risk assessments on all tasks and help drive out repeat faults at root cause
• Keep accurate electronic maintenance records and advise on spares holdings
• Communicate clearly across shift handovers, with production teams and external suppliers
• Support 5S and continuous-improvement activities, and mentor apprentices where needed

What we’re looking for (essential)

• Time-served maintenance apprenticeship and relevant engineering qualifications
• Hands-on experience maintaining CNC machine tools
• Fully experienced with Fanuc control systems
• Risk-assessment trained with a safety-first approach
• PC literate and confident with electronic record-keeping
• Strong communication skills
• Full, existing right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
• Willing to relocate to the Plymouth area

Desirable

• PLC systems / ladder diagram knowledge
• IOSH
• Specific machine-tool or hydraulics experience
