Electrical Manager - Sidcup

£30,000 - £34,000 per annum.
 

Our client is one of the largest suppliers of building materials to the UK's building and construction industry and are looking for an experiened Electrical Manager to join their team. 

As the Electrical Manager you will need to ensure that all electrical plant and property is maintained in safe working order and that all necessary records are correctly completed. You will need to design and implement strategic plans which create and maximise a new Electrical Business attracting and securing new customers/business. Through your team you will be co-ordinating sales, purchasing, distribution, warehousing and staff costs in accordance with policies, principles, and procedures established by the Company.

The Electrical Manager has total responsibility for the profitability and maximisation of ROCE (return on capital employed) for the electrical category within the branch and is directly responsible for dealing with complex and diverse managerial problems, which cover the full spectrum of management disciplines.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to a broad spectrum of individuals.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to plan and prioritise the work of self and others.
  • Ability to produce and interpret basic financial/statistical information.
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of how to impact the bottom line

Essential Experience

  • Previous staff management experience with the ability to lead, motivate and develop staff
  • Previous experience in a similar role or Assistant Manager position.
  • I.T. experience.
  • Electrical Product knowledge and able to give technical understanding

This is a complex role in which you will be required to work with the credit services team to manage customers account limits and support the management of account payments, negotiate trade discounts, to maintain good relations with electrical suppliers and plan day to day activities to increase sales e.g. covering the electrical operation, working on the trade counter, meeting new potential customers & customer visits.
